Destination Overview

Mailchimp is a leading platform for email marketing and automation, enabling businesses to manage audiences, design campaigns, and drive engagement through targeted email communications.

This guide will walk you through how to configure Mailchimp as a destination within Untitled and how to send audiences effectively for ongoing marketing activation and lifecycle email workflows.

Prerequisites

To connect your Mailchimp account to Untitled, you will need:

  • Access to your Mailchimp account.

  • An audience within Mailchimp that can be populated with your Untitled resolutions. It can be an empty audience, but you will need a destination for the new users.

  • Admin, manager, or owner-level permissions within your Mailchimp account.

You're now moving to the second portion of authenticating Mailchimp as a Destination in your Untitled account.

Log into Mailchimp

  1. Click Allow to enable the data sync between your Untitled resolutions and Mailchimp via Census.

  2. The app will now test the connection between Untitled and Mailchimp. There are two steps:

    1. Verify service connectivity

    2. Load objects

These steps may take 5–10 minutes to complete. Click "Finish" on this page when the connection testing has completed.

If you've successfully connected the Mailchimp Destination, you'll see a green indicator icon on the Mailchimp card in your "Connected Destinations" dashboard. If this is the case, feel free to close the authentication tab in your browser from the previous steps.

Sync Untitled Audiences to Mailchimp

Now that you are back in the Untitled dashboard, you should see a success message in the "Management" > "Destinations" area of the dashboard. Click Explore my audiences to navigate to the Audiences page of Untitled.

  1. Within the "Audience" page, click the Destination tab. Your available destinations, including Mailchimp, should appear.

  2. Click Setup sync and a popup will appear. From the dropdown list available, click the Mailchimp audience that you'd like to sync your Untitled audience to and click Continue.

  3. The Untitled audience will start to sync to your Mailchimp account, and this may take 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how large the audience is.

Automate Additional Tags in Mailchimp

When your Untitled audience is added to Mailchimp, the Untitled audience name will be applied as a Mailchimp tag to each imported contact. If you'd like to automatically add additional tags to this audience, follow the steps below to create a Mailchimp Automation:

  1. Click Automations and then All Journeys in the left-side navigation of Mailchimp. Then click Build from Scratch at the top of the screen.

  1. Name the journey something like "Untitled auto tagging [Insert Your Untitled Audience name]" and select the Mailchimp audience that you're syncing your Untitled audience to.

  2. Select the starting point Tag added.

  1. The starting point tag is going to be the Untitled audience name that is automatically applied to the audience synced from Untitled. Select that tag and click Save Starting Point.

  1. On the right side of the screen, click Add a journey step and from the drop down list, scroll and select Tag/Untag.

  1. Select the tag you want to add to the contacts and select Add as the action for the automation and click Save. Repeat the steps for adding journey steps and tags as many times as you wish to get your synced audience tagged.
